WHat vendors should you book for your wedding and when!

Did you know that 40% of all engagements happen from November to Febuary every year? The 20% of those happen in December! So that means that all of those newly engaged couples are looking for the same vendors as you, at the same time.

There is a lot of things to think about after you get newly engaged. Its exciting, fun and new. You might feel a little overwhelmed, but my hugest advice for you is plan plan plan sooner than later. That way when your day comes, you are prepared and ready to enjoy your day!

The top 4 venors to book Asap….

#1: Venue

Book your VENUE as soon as you can. You need to have a place to hold all of your most loved family members and friends. Venues get booked the quickest, because having a place for your wedding is so huge.

When booking your venue think about these key things.

  1. Size of venue. Will it fit everyone you plan on inviting or even is it to big for the amount of people you are inviting?

  2. Location. Is it close to town or is it a drive for a lot of people to come to?

  3. Photogenic. Does the venue have great and multiple places to do photos.

  4. Air conditioning. If you are planning on having your wedding in the summer will there be air conditioning for your guests? Comfortable and happy guests will stay and celebrate with you longer.

  5. Options to have ceremony indoors. You never know what mother nature will provide during your day. So make sure you have a plan b for indoor ceremony.

#2: Photographer

After you have found your location, the next important thing you need to book is your photographer. Most photographers, especially ones that mainly focus on weddings will book out to 1-2 years in advance.

Photography is one of the biggest things during your wedding day. It’s how you will remember your day. It's also one of the only things that will gain value after your wedding day. Booking a great photographer that understands the flow of weddings, no matter the size is very important.

#3: a day of coordinator/Planner

This role is very needed. The difference between a coordinator and a planner is a coordinator plans your day on the timeline. They make sure that people need to be where they need to be during your day. A planner plans everything from the colors to your wedding, to all the events happening during your day.

These need to be scheduled at least 1-2 years before the wedding date as well. ADOC and Wedding planners book up extremely fast as well. Make sure you book someone that you vibe with and understands how YOU want your day.

#4: DJ/Live band

Now in days a lot of people believe they do not necessarily need a dj. Now that we have Spotify and bluetooth speakers a lot of Brides think they can use that. I will tell you first hand… this does not work. 80% of Brides who did not book a DJ for there event, regret not getting a DJ.

Not only do they provide entertainment they also help guide all of your guests during the reception. They also care about what songs are being played during your ceremony. If they are a good dj they also know how to get a crowd moving and partying.

Depending on the DJ or Live Band they need 8 to 6 months from the wedding date to be booked.

In terms of your other vendors book them as soon as you book these top 4 vendors. The other vendors are a lot more flexible because a lot of times they can do more than one wedding day. The top 4 that I mentioned, there is only one of them, they can not be in multiple places at once.

Have fun planning your wedding, this is a huge moment between you and your significant other. Remember to reach out to any of your vendors and ask any questions. Congratulations and happy planning!
